COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery Day in Colorado

Governor Jared Polis and state officials welcomed Colorado’s first COVID-19 vaccine shipment and administered the first vaccines to frontline health care workers on Monday, December 14, 2020.

Frontline health care heroes at UC Health Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs were among the first to receive this vaccine in Colorado. Governor Polis signed for and received the first shipment of the vaccine at the State Lab in Denver. The Governor was joined by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) staff, CDPHE incident commander Scott Bookman, Dr. Rachel Herlihy, State of Colorado Lead Epidemiologist, and Brigadier General Scott Sherman, Dir. of Joint Vaccine Task Force and the Colorado National Guard.
