They are generally very impressed with male testosterone leadership. You find it in two areas of conservative culture, both in religious culture and military culture, BOTH of which Trump does not identify with or believe in. But he is able to project the STRENGTH that they crave. This is why he has to keep appearances up at all time, whether it be to keep his real net worth a secret in order to maintain his image as a rich successful billionaire ALL THE WAY to contracting COVID and declaring that he feels great, standing like Mussolini on the Truman balcony. Talk about performance art and playacting. But this image he protrays above all is what this particular conservative party craves in a leader—an authoritarian. Just as a side note, when the Soviet Union collapsed, the older generation was sad because they wanted Stalin back—even though he was a brutal dictator that killed thousands of Russians.
There is something very wrong and very destructive with this model of authoritarian leadership in America.
Authoritarianism runs counter to Democracy. This is not good for America because Democracy is designed to
to hold the highest that have control over our lives accountable for their actions and performance. When you become the ultimate authority that is above the laws of the land, then the system no longer is a democracy. When you can successfully defy or jail your critiques, defy and obstruct the balance of power that the Constitution lays out, then you no longer are a President. You are ruler. America has to decide what is more important to them—Democracy or Authoritarianism.
In countries like North Korea where there is no media, only state run propaganda—where there are no hard ball questions by reporters, where there is no journalism, the citizens have no voice. There are no elections. There are no debate,s and there is no opposing party. It is just Kim Jong-Un… FOR LIFE. And in the same vein, Trump has that ANY criticism of him is an attack. He has decided that your voice does not matter to him. It does not matter to him if 100% of America votes him out in Nov. You find it in two areas of conservative culture, both in religious culture and military culture, BOTH of which Trump does not identify with or believe in. But he is able to project the STRENGTH that they crave. This is why he has to keep appearances up at all time, whether it be to keep his real net worth a secret in order to maintain his image as a rich successful billionaire ALL THE WAY to contracting COVID and declaring that he feels great, standing like Mussolini on the Truman balcony. Talk about performance art and playacting. But this image he protrays above all is what this particular conservative party craves in a leader—an authoritarian. Just as a side note, when the Soviet Union collapsed, the older generation was sad because they wanted Stalin back—even though he was a brutal dictator that killed thousands of Russians.
There is something very wrong and very destructive with this model of authoritarian leadership in America.
Authoritarianism runs counter to Democracy. This is not good for America because Democracy is designed to
to hold the highest that have control over our lives accountable for their actions and performance. When you become the ultimate authority that is above the laws of the land, then the system no longer is a democracy. When you can successfully defy or jail your critiques, defy and obstruct the balance of power that the Constitution lays out, then you no longer are a President. You are ruler. America has to decide what is more important to them—Democracy or Authoritarianism.
In countries like North Korea where there is no media, only state run propaganda—where there are no hard ball questions by reporters, where there is no journalism, the citizens have no voice. There are no elections. There are no debate,s and there is no opposing party. It is just Kim Jong-Un… FOR LIFE. And in the same vein, Trump has that ANY criticism of him is an attack. He has decided that your voice does not matter to him. It does not matter to him if 100% of America votes him out in Nov. He has already decided the fate of the election and he has declared himself the winner. That isn’t Democracy, that is for sure. And here I thought America was great because it was WE THE PEOPLE not ME DONALD TRUMP that determines our fate.
I am not sure exactly what the Trump supporters see in him that is so appealing but they are on a path toward fascism and that is slippery slope. I know that sounds extreme but look up the definition of fascism. It says,
