Growing up in a nurturing family environment is important for every child’s development and well-being. Yet, caregivers of children with developmental delays and disabilities often experience stigma, discrimination and impoverishment and the majority of children with developmental disabilities do not have access to early learning opportunities and care.

This short video describes the open-access programme for families of children with developmental delays or disabilities that the World Health Organization, together with international partners, has developed. The programme, which can be implemented by non-specialists in low-resource, as well high-resource settings, consists of nine group sessions and three home visits.
