Vector Borne Diseases in Guatemala

Vector-borne diseases are major causes of death and illness worldwide.
CDC collaborates with local partners like Universidad del Valle-Guatemala to improve epidemiological surveillance through activities such as community-based surveillance for vector-borne diseases. These efforts use a One Health approach, which recognizes that the health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment
in partnership with Universidad del Valle-Guatemala (UVG) established an insectary where vector-borne diseases are studied. The goal is to eliminate the threat of vector-borne diseases in Central America.
