KETO LPFM Covering

Covering a 10-mile radius, KETO will be broadcast throughout north and central Aurora, the City of Glendale, and the Denver neighborhoods of Montbello, Stapleton, Park Hill, Mayfair, Montclair, Lowry, Cherry Creek and Hilltop. Together, these geographies house some of the highest percentages of foreign-born individuals in the entire Metro area (up to 36% foreign-born is some parts of Montbello, for example). The City of Aurora is home to over 8,000 African-born residents, and more than one-third of the states’ African immigrants live in Aurora. As is illustrated, the strategic location of the KETO antennae assures that programming will have the most relevant and appropriate reach for communities of African-born residents throughout the Denver metro area.

Rocky Mountain Multicultural Community Radio is a community based organization whose purpose is to provide an educational, informational, and creative outlet for African-born people living in Denver County and Aurora Arapahoe County, Colorado. KETO’s mission is to promote effective communication through community uses of media and its objective is to enhance the quality of life for the African immigrants and refugee citizens of Denver and Aurora by offering community services, programming of local interest, and entertainment which is responsive to the needs and interests of the African immigrants and refugee’s service area.

KETO

KETO will be the first and only immigrant and refugee community radio station in Colorado.

KETO’s historical base listenership is aging and target audiences are evolving. Further, the population within the Denver/Aurora  Metro Area is increasingly diversified. An influx of young people and new immigrant populations offer new and different opportunities for engagement with the community.
