#Colorado’s office of #Economic #Development and #International #Trade is proposing a new #cannabis advancement program. Governor Jared #Polis has asked for five #million #dollars to support this new program to help people in the cannabis industry. The OEDIT, is essentially wanting to create a program similar to the federal Small Business #Administration and the state’s Small #Business Development Center, because of the disadvantages cannabis companies experience due to federal #regulations. In Polis’s request it states the program would, “establish and fund technical assistance programs specific to cannabis businesses but modeled after existing OEDIT programming and establish a grant and/or revolving loan program for businesses that qualify as “social equity licensees.” The five million dollars will be broken down to 115,000 dollars for the program manager, 74,000 dollars for the program coordinator, and the remainder for the program operations.
