Raju’s fight: protecting migrant worker communities from COVID-19

Because of how #COVID19 is transmitted, people living in dormitory settings are especially vulnerable. Singapore’s COVID-19 response includes working with more than 5000 migrant ambassadors who engage with worker communities in their own languages, and deploying 3000 public officers to support dormitory operators and employers. Many Singaporeans have volunteered time, effort and contributed to ground-up initiatives to provide migrant workers with masks, care packs and essential items. Here is one migrant worker’s story.
