Colorado Allows For Forgiveness for Conviction of Cannabis Related Charges

In Colorado, Governor Jared Polis signed new legislation on June 29th and will take effect on September 14th. House Bill 1424 allows for forgiveness of cannabis related charges and convictions with a 90 day adjournment period. Furthermore, the bill will grant pardon to anyone who was charged with possession of two or less ounces of cannabis before legalization.
To qualify for this bill, you have to be a citizen of colorado and arrested or convicted of this marijuana related offense. Additionally, applicants whose family members have been convicted or live in a zoned low income area may apply. For more information, visit leg.colorado.gov and search HB 1424.
